A unique and beautiful bunch
I went back to work today (hmph) - wedding, honeymoon, and all that goes with it is over. A few work colleagues commented on how large my wedding bouquet was. There’s a story behind that.
I came across an idea that I couldn’t let alone - a community bouquet, where the guests contributed to the bride’s bouquet. But with 60+ guests, that’s WAY too many flowers. Eventually, we asked on the invite for each household to contribute a flower. It saved me from making decisions about flowers, and saved on paying a florist (bridesmaids had paper-pin wheel bouquets that I made, and the boutonnières were peacock feathers). It also got everyone involved.
So my Mum, and my now mother-in-law, kitted out with a tub of silver tape, ribbon, scissors, and pearl-headed pins, constructed my bouquet as each guest arrived. By the time I arrived, I had an amazing, unique bouquet full of love. (And it weighed a ton!).
